The CLCGA Committee have made a decision to cancel the League competition for the 2021 season. I’ m sure you are all experiencing a sense of deja vu with this.
The reasons behind this decision being made were, with the Covid 19 pandemic and lockdown the chances of fitting all the matches in would be adversely affected. Most of the clubs start playing matches in March and April and we all know rearranging a match cancelled for bad weather is always a tricky but this year will be doubly so. In the 2019 season we had a number of matches not being played as they ran out of time.
The golf clubs have all taken a hit in green fees and us cancelling early allows them the chance of taking bookings. We all need our Clubs to survive this difficult time financially.
Catering is also problematic with some clubs having no catering.
Social distancing and sharing transport.
If your clubs are agreeable there is nothing stopping Ladies playing friendly matches later in the year when regulations permit, but we felt we needed to put our members health and safety first.
